TRY Driver Terms of Service

Last updated: July 9, 2026

These Terms govern your use of the TRY app as a driver. TRY is operated by Novapath Technologies Limited (“Novapath,” “we,” “us”), a company incorporated in Nigeria (RC 9652914). By creating a TRY driver account, you agree to these Terms. If you also ride with TRY, the separate Rider Terms of Service govern that side of your account.

1. What TRY is

TRY is a technology platform that connects independent tricycle (Keke) drivers with riders who need a trip, piloting across Anambra State with plans to expand nationwide. Novapath does not own, lease, or operate any tricycles, and does not employ drivers. You are an independent operator, not a Novapath employee or agent. You choose when to go online, which offers to accept, and how you run your business. TRY is not a transport carrier: we provide the matching, navigation, and payment technology that connects you with riders.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, hold a valid means of operating a tricycle in Nigeria, and be able to form a binding contract under Nigerian law to use TRY as a driver.

3. Your account and KYC

  • Your account is tied to a phone number, verified by SMS OTP at sign-up. You're responsible for keeping access to that phone number secure.
  • To register, you must provide a valid National Identification Number (NIN), a clear photo of your tricycle's plate number, and a photo of yourself, and be the person whose photo, name, and details appear on your TRY driver profile.
  • You must hold a valid driver's licence for the vehicle you operate. We require you to have one; we do not ask you to upload it, and we do not keep a copy. Driving for TRY without a valid licence is a breach of these terms and grounds for removal, whether or not we have seen the document.
  • You must hold any local government levies, permits, or licenses required to operate a tricycle for hire. TRY does not obtain, pay, or guarantee these on your behalf.
  • TRY reviews driver applications before approval and may reject or suspend a driver account at our discretion, including for failed verification, repeated rider complaints, or safety concerns.
  • You can delete your account at any time from within the app. See the Refund Policy for what to do with your wallet balance first.

4. Going online and accepting trips

  • You choose your own hours, go online when it suits you, and accept or decline any trip offer.
  • Trip offers are sent to nearby available drivers; the first to accept is matched with the rider.
  • To accept a cash-paying trip, your TRY wallet must hold a minimum balance. This covers the commission you'll owe once the trip completes, since cash never passes through TRY's systems.
  • You must drive safely, follow applicable traffic laws, and not discriminate against riders.

5. Commission and getting paid

  • TRY charges a flat commission on every completed trip. You keep the rest. The current rate is shown in your driver app before you go online.
  • For wallet-paying trips, your earning is credited to your TRY wallet the moment the trip completes.
  • For cash trips, the rider pays you directly; TRY separately debits its commission from your wallet.
  • You can withdraw your wallet balance to your bank account at any time, through our payment partner, Monnify. TRY does not store your bank login details.
  • Withdrawals are typically processed promptly but are not guaranteed instantaneous. If a withdrawal fails on Monnify's end after your wallet was debited, the amount is automatically credited back to your wallet. See the Refund Policy.
  • All amounts are in Nigerian Naira (₦).

6. Prohibited conduct

You may not use TRY to harass or endanger a rider; commit fraud (including fake trips, GPS spoofing, or wallet manipulation); circumvent TRY's commission by arranging payment outside the app for a trip booked through TRY; or use the platform for any unlawful purpose. Repeated short trips or unusual patterns between the same accounts may be reviewed as potential collusion.

7. Liability

TRY is a matching and payments technology platform. To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, we are not liable for the acts or omissions of riders, we do not guarantee any minimum volume of trip offers, and our liability for any claim related to the platform itself is limited to the amount of the disputed transaction. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under Nigerian law.

8. Dispute resolution

If you have a complaint about a trip, fare, commission, or payout, contact us first at info@novapath.ng so we can investigate using trip and ledger records. Cash-trip disputes can also be flagged directly from your trip history within 24 hours of the trip.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms, including the commission rate, as TRY grows. We'll notify you in-app of material changes before they take effect.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
