TRY Rider Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the TRY app as a rider. TRY is operated by Novapath Technologies Limited (“Novapath,” “we,” “us”), a company incorporated in Nigeria (RC 9652914). By creating a TRY rider account, you agree to these Terms. If you also drive with TRY, the separate Driver Terms of Service govern that side of your account.

1. What TRY is

TRY is a technology platform that connects you with independent tricycle (Keke) drivers willing to give you a ride, piloting across Anambra State with plans to expand nationwide. Novapath does not own, lease, or operate any tricycles, and does not employ drivers. TRY is not a transport carrier: we provide the matching, navigation, and payment technology that connects you with a driver.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract under Nigerian law to use TRY as a rider.

3. Your account

Your account is tied to a phone number, verified by SMS OTP at sign-up. You're responsible for keeping access to that phone number secure.
One rider account per phone number. Don't create an account on behalf of someone else without their knowledge.
You can delete your account at any time from within the app. See the Refund Policy for what happens to any remaining wallet balance when you do.

4. Requesting and taking a trip

When you request a trip, TRY broadcasts your request to nearby available drivers; the first to accept is matched with you.
The fare shown at request time is an estimate; the final fare is confirmed by the driver at trip completion and may differ slightly (for example, if the actual route or traffic conditions differ from the estimate).
You may pay by TRY wallet balance or cash, where the driver allows it.
You'll see your driver's photo, name, and tricycle plate number before they arrive. Check that it matches before boarding.
Cancelling shortly after a driver is assigned is free; cancelling well after a driver has already committed to reaching you may carry a small late-cancellation fee, shown in-app.
You agree to treat drivers respectfully and not to request trips you don't intend to take.

5. Payments and wallet

TRY charges drivers a commission on every completed trip. This does not change what you pay as a rider.
Wallet top-ups are processed through our payment partner, Monnify. TRY does not store your card or bank login details.
Your wallet balance is not interest-bearing and is not a bank deposit.
Riders top up and spend from their wallet, but do not withdraw wallet balance to a bank account. See the Refund Policy for how top-up errors and trip disputes are handled instead.
All amounts are in Nigerian Naira (₦).

6. Prohibited conduct

You may not use TRY to harass or endanger a driver; commit fraud (including fake trip requests, GPS spoofing, or wallet manipulation); arrange payment outside the app to avoid a fare booked through TRY; or use the platform for any unlawful purpose.

7. Liability

TRY is a matching and payments technology platform. To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, we are not liable for the acts or omissions of independent drivers, we do not guarantee that a driver will be available for any given trip request, and our liability for any claim related to the platform itself is limited to the amount of the disputed transaction. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under Nigerian law.

8. Dispute resolution

If you have a complaint about a trip, fare, or payment, contact us first at info@novapath.ng so we can investigate using trip and ledger records. Cash-trip disputes can also be flagged directly from your trip history within 24 hours of the trip.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as TRY grows. We'll notify you in-app of material changes before they take effect.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
